Selva - “Another name for the Amazon, the lungs of the earth”We are looking for a skilled and friendly waiter/waitress to join our team. As a waiter/ waitress, you play a big role in creating and providing the best guest experience. Your goal will be to exceed guest expectations. You will be responsible for taking orders and serving food & beverages to guests. By means of storytelling and passion, you will play an important role in creating immaculate guest experiences; interacting with the guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and taking action to manage any challenges.Are you a friendly waiter/ waitress looking for a challenging job opportunity? Inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine, Selva is a new restaurant concept that is located the 24th floor of nhow Amsterdam hotel. This new rooftop restaurant has 150 seats and is overlooking the city of Amsterdam. Together with the Restaurant Manager and the restaurant team, and complemented by the amazing views, you have a great opportunity to run this great new restaurant and create the nhow experiences our guests hope for. What are you going to do? At Selva, we will literally lift our guests; we will bring them to a higher place to escape the busy streets of Amsterdam and let them emerge in a colorful and lush environment. Therefore, it is important that our waiting brigade facilitates a place for them to connect and interact with others whilst enjoying food, drinks, and views that stimulate their taste buds, eyes, and ears. In short: we offer a place where they will leave with only one wish. The desire to come back soon.You will also be responsible for:

• Providing excellent guest service
• Greeting guests and presenting menus
• Making suggestions based on their preferences
• Taking and serving food/drinks orders
• Up selling when appropriate
• Arranging table settings
• Delivering checks and collecting payments
  

Job requirements
Apply nhow if you meet the following requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience as a waiter/ waitress, ideally in a destination restaurant
• Proven experience as a team player
• Ability to actively listen
• Creating happy guests comes naturally to you
• Excellent command of English language, Dutch is an advantage
• Good physical condition
• Pleasant, positive, and open attitude

Organisation
Selva, een nieuw Latijns-Amerikaans restaurant op de 24e verdieping van het iconische designhotel nhow Amsterdam RAI, opent in de zomer van 2023 haar deuren. Selva, een vertaling van ‘het Amazonegebied', is een eerbetoon aan het regenwoud - de longen van onze aarde. 
Geïnspireerd door de natuur en natuurlijke elementen, het interieur van het restaurant is geïnspireerd op de kleuren, texturen en patronen van het Amazoneregenwoud. Selva wordt gekenmerkt door organische vormen die door het restaurant ‘stromen' en de rivieren van het Amazonegebied weerspiegelen. Met een overvloed aan planten en aardse tinten wordt er een weelderige en levendige sfeer gecreëerd waar gasten kunnen genieten van de culinaire ervaring die Selva te bieden heeft.
Exotische smaken uit Latijns-Amerika, het menu van Selva is een ontdekkingsreis door de diverse en smaakvolle keukens van Latijns-Amerika, met gerechten die geïnspireerd zijn op smaken uit onder andere Mexico, Peru en Brazilië. Gasten kunnen een reeks aan verschillende gerechten verwachten, van ceviche tot gegrild vlees en zeevruchten. De zichtbare houtskoolgrill verrijkt de smaken van de gerechten en zorgt voor een memorabele dinerervaring.
Sonora is een cocktailbar die, naast Selva opent in dezelfde ruimte op de hoogste verdieping van het hotel. Sonora biedt een brede selectie cocktails, met ingrediënten geïnspireerd op de smaken van het Amazoneregenwoud. Met haar toplocatie op de 24e verdieping van nhow Amsterdam RAI, bieden Selva en Sonora een adembenemend uitzicht over de stad, waardoor het een ideale bestemming is voor zowel locals als toeristen. Selva beslaat 700 vierkante meter, met in totaal 137 couverts voor het restaurant en 45 zitplaatsen in de cocktailbar.
