## About the role As a Senior Java Developer, you will help build reliable, scalable software that makes a direct contribution to the quality and continuity of digital services. You will work on complex backend solutions, contribute to technical decisions, and support the team in delivering robust systems. This role combines hands-on development with senior-level involvement in collaboration, quality, and technical direction. In this part-time position, you will have impact on architecture, performance, and maintainability, while also helping other developers develop their skills. ## What we offer - An salary indication that matches seniority and part-time availability; competitive employment conditions - Flexible part-time schedule of 32 hours per week - Room for professional growth and knowledge sharing - A challenging environment with complex technical issues - Competitive benefits package ## Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend functionality in Java with a strong focus on scalability and reliability - Translate business and functional needs into technical solutions while safeguarding technical quality - Improve the performance, security, and maintainability of existing applications - Collaborate with product, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and with care - Review colleagues’ code and coach team members on best practices - Identify technical risks and actively contribute to architecture decisions ## Requirements - At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role - Strong knowledge of Java and common backend principles - Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases - Familiarity with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices - Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written - HBO or WO level of thinking, preferably in computer science or a similar field ## Nice to have - Experience with Spring Boot - Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Experience with microservices architectures - Knowledge of containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes - Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
